The iAlert system serves as Washburn Tech’s primary method of communication during a campus emergency or special situation. iAlert technology enables Washburn Tech to send voice, email and text messages to staff, faculty, students and other contacts, such as parents and spouses, to telephone numbers you designate. Both a voice message and a text message will be sent to your designated cell phone numbers. A voice mail message will be left if there is no answer. A voice message will be sent to landline telephone numbers. A voice mail message will be left if there is no answer. An email will be automatically sent to your washburn.edu account.
If you only want to receive the messages in your email, you are already registered and you do not have to do anything. If you want to receive the iAlert messages via telephone you need to visit the following website iAlert Preferences Portal and login, using your MyWashburn username and password. Once logged in, you can add or remove telephone numbers where you want to receive the messages. You are encouraged to sign up for this service so you can be informed as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency on campus or special situation so you can take appropriate and timely safety measures in response to the event.

If you would also like to receive the messages via telephone, please go to the following website iAlert Preferences Portal and login using your MyWashburn username and password. When you login you will be able to add or remove any telephone numbers you choose.
Go to the registration portal at the following website iAlert Preferences Portal and you will be able to make changes at anytime. However, please note it can take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect.
Only text messages and emails will be sent to notify you of campus closings due to inclement weather because such notices are typically issued at approximately 5 a.m. If you enrolled only a landline telephone number you will not receive a call about campus closings.
