Washburn Tech’s main campus, located less than five miles from the Kansas Statehouse, covers several acres near the west side retail hub of the city. In 2013, Washburn Tech opened the Midwest Training Center for Climate and Energy Control Technologies on the main campus. Through partnerships with Trane USA, Snap-on Tools, and the National Coalition of Certification Centers, the center is one of only two training labs of this caliber in the country. In 2014, Washburn Tech launched its new Heavy Diesel Construction Technology program through a public-private partnership with CASE Construction and The Victor L. Phillips Company. In 2015, Washburn Tech partnered with BNSF Railway and the National Academy of Railroad Sciences (NARS) to open the Locomotive Diesel Technology lab. In addition, our Auto Service program became a training site for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, one of only 11 in the country.
