Eric Showalter is committed to providing needed training to the collision repair industry. He was named the 2013 Lon Baudoux Instructor of the Year for the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR), South Central Region. He left his own I-CAR Gold Class shop to pass on his trade to students at Washburn Tech, his alma mater (Class of 1976).
“I am a strong advocate for technical education. There is a lot of need out there for hands on technicians and not every student is college material. I enjoy working with students who have strong hand skills that might otherwise fall through the cracks if it weren’t for technical education.”
“I thoroughly enjoy my trade and worked in the industry for several years before entering the instructional side of the industry. Because of my years in this business, I have a lot of contacts both locally and regionally which gives me an “in” with many individuals in a position to hire the students we are preparing to enter this industry.”
