Tutoring Available

Students who need some extra assistance with math can go to the Advantage Center in the east wing of Building A. Call 785.670.2390 to learn when tutors are available each semester.

Outstanding Students 2018

Each year, two students are chosen to receive the Outstanding Student Award. This honor is based on their overall outstanding performance at Washburn Tech. Students are nominated by their instructor and are chosen based on attendance, academic achievement, an essay and a personal interview. Outstanding Student Award recipients receive a $500 cash award in recognition of their accomplishment.

Danielle Lehr is a graduate of the culinary arts program. Her passion for cooking led her to Washburn Tech, where she has excelled in class and in leadership roles through SkillsUSA. Lehr says "Washburn Tech has opened doors to new opportunities and new culinary paths. It has surpassed my expectations of training." Read more about Danielle's story!

Richard Ross is a graduate of the cabinet and millwork program. After serving in the Army for 20 years, Ross turned his attention to education. His goal was to take everything he had learned through life and the military and open his own business. Ross says, "Washburn Tech provided not only me but every student with a basis to be a successful employee and/or employer."  Learn more about Richard!
