We are excited you are considering Washburn Tech to further your education. We have a long history of preparing students for future career success. Through our 38 career programs, we have the training you need to either start or change your career, update your skills or earn industry certifications.

Start today by applying online and please allow one week for processing. The next step is passing an admissions test and meeting entrance requirements for your chosen program. Please register and pay for the test at least one day in advance. If you are in high school, the test is free. 

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue until programs are full or the school year begins. Open enrollment for August 2017 began last fall for those who qualify (see steps below). You may only enroll in one career program at a time.

Note: This process is for all programs except: 15-Day Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, Home Health Aide, prerequisites, individual courses, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology.

High School Enrollment

  • Fill-out online application
  • Take and pass ACT Workkeys  (or submit qualifying scores from ACT, Asset, PSAT, SAT, Compass, CASAS or TABE)
  • Submit official transcripts
  • Register for Fall 2016 by meeting with your recruiter
  • Pay $20 enrollment fee

Post-Secondary Enrollment (Adult)

  • Fill-out online application
  • Take and pass ACT WorkKeys (or submit qualifying scores from ACT, Asset, PSAT, SAT, Compass, CASAS, TABE or an official transcript indicating an Associates or Bachelor’s degree)
  • Submit official transcripts
  • Register for Fall 2016 by meeting with your recruiter
  • Pay $50 enrollment fee

Getting in a Career Program

Enrollment will be determined by space available in each program. If accepted, you will be required to pay a non-refundable enrollment fee and purchase the books, supplies and tools required for your chosen program.
